A.C. Buehler returns to serve Northbrook on its Zoning Board of Appeals

Longtime Northbrook resident A.C. Buehler III was appointed to the village's Zoning Board of Appeals Sept. 8 during a board of trustees meeting.

Subject of an Illinois House of Representatives resolution at the 101st General Assembly in 2019 for his contributions to Northbrook, Buehler resumes service to the village he'd served as a member of the board of trustees and on the Northbrook Plan Commission.

The Glenbrook North High School graduate has lived in Northbrook since 1959.

He served on the Plan Commission from 1988-1995, when he was elected to the board of trustees and served until 2019.

Over his tenure, the House Resolution stated, Buehler served as committee chair for Housing and Human Services, Contracts and Finances, Public Safety and the Emergency Telephone Systems Board. He served as a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee and as a co-chair of the Northwest Municipal Conference Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee.

A former paid-on-call firefighter as well as a Boy Scout leader in the community, his input and experience led to Northbrook passing a fire sprinkler ordinance in new single-family homes, and amendments to the Northbrook Zoning Code.

Buehler's term with the Northbrook Zoning Board of Appeals will expire in April 2024.
