Two suffer serious injuries in Zion crash

Two people were injured in a serious car crash on Tuesday morning in Zion.

According to a news release from Zion police, a 24-year-old North Chicago woman driving a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox pulled out into the path of a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria driven by 33-year-old Zion man. The crash occurred about 7 a.m. at 24th Street and Lewis Avenue.

The woman sustained life-threatening injuries, and the man was also seriously injured, police said Both were taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, where the woman underwent surgery and was in critical condition, the news release said.

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident should call police at (847) 873-8000.
