McHenry man charged in drug-induced homicide
A 29-year-old McHenry man faces charges in the drug-related death of a 32-year-old man in an unincorporated area near McHenry.
On Friday, the McHenry County sheriff's office announced that Stanley J. Rzepka will appear in court Tuesday morning on charges of drug-induced homicide and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance
In a press release, the sheriff's office said the Narcotics Task Force arrested Rzepka following a three-month investigation into the May 31 death of a man at a home in the 2500 block of Birchwood Avenue.
During the investigation, detectives found evidence that the man used heroin before his death.
The release did not spell out the connection between the deceased and Rzepka. However, it said that a warrant was issued for Rzepka's arrest.
On Thursday, detectives from the sheriff's office along with the U.S. Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force made the arrest as Rzepka was leaving the McHenry County Courthouse on another matter. He was then taken to the McHenry County Correctional Facility.
