Northwest Highway bridge repairs begin Sept. 1 in Barrington

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday that repairs to the Northwest Highway bridge over Flint Creek in Barrington will require daily lane closures from Hough Street to Lake Zurich Road beginning Sept. 1, weather permitting.

The project, which includes the installation of structural steel underneath the existing concrete deck, is expected to be completed in late November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

Updates on the impacts to traffic are available at www.travelmidwest.com.
