District 58 picks new administrator

A veteran educator with 12 years experience teaching students with emotional disabilities in Kendall County has been named behavioral support systems coordinator in Downers Grove Elementary District 58.

Lauren Hartelius will assume her new duties Aug. 17 and directly support students, staff and families who participate in the district's Behavioral Emotional and Social Training program. She also will work systemwide to strengthen behavioral support systems for all students.

She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University and a master's in special education from Northern Illinois University. She recently completed her educational leadership certification from North Central College.
