Lakemoor man accused of rape in Fox Lake

Fox Lake police on Thursday apprehended a Lakemoor man who has been charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.

Allan Cooper, 23, is alleged to have entered a Fox Lake business where a woman was working alone on June 19, according to an investigation conducted by Fox Lake detectives in conjunction with the Lake County state's attorney's office.

According to a news release, Cooper had a brief conversation with the woman, gave her a false name, led her to a rear area of the building and sexually assaulted her. The woman reported the sexual assault after Cooper left the area.

An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday. Cooper was arrested Thursday at his residence on Neptune Cove in Lakemoor. He remains in the Lake County jail on $500,000 bond.
