St. Charles District 303 extends deadline for choosing fall instructional model

The deadline for St. Charles Unit District 303 families to choose an instructional model for the fall semester has been extended until July 24.

A student selection attendance form was sent out this week asking parents and guardians to choose whether their children will participate in remote or in-person learning when school begins next month.

A daily in-person option is being offered to elementary students, while a hybrid model β€” where students attend school in person on an alternating schedule β€” has been designed for the middle and high school levels, according to a plan released earlier this week. An online-only option is available for all grade levels on a semester basis.

The district initially asked families to make a choice by Monday, but later decided to extend the deadline β€œto provide families with additional time to plan,” according to a letter sent Friday. District officials are expected to release more information on the instructional models, as well as health and safety protocols, early next week.
