Glenview's Flick Aquatic Center set to reopen Wednesday

The Glenview Park District's Flick Aquatic Center, which has been closed since Thursday afternoon after workers tested positive for COVID-19, will remain closed Tuesday but is expected to reopen for regular hours Wednesday, officials said.

The pool was closed after two lifeguards tested positive for COVID-19, park district officials said last week. They do not believe the lifeguards had any close contact with members of the public.

The aquatic center was cleaned and sanitized Friday, and remained closed "out of an abundance of caution" through the weekend so staff members who may have had close contact with the lifeguards could be tested, according to a news release on Friday. Employees who were found to have had close contact with the lifeguards were asked to self-quarantine for two weeks, the park district said Friday.

Many of those employees already have received negative results while other still are awaiting their tests, officials said Monday. Park district policy doesn't allow employees to return to work until they've had a negative test.
