East Dundee police seeking accreditation

An assessment team from the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program will be in East Dundee on July 13 and 14 to examine all aspects of the police department's policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

The department has chosen to undergo the voluntary process to gain accreditation, which has been a top priority for Chief George Carpenter.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel, elected officials and members of the community are invited to call with their comments during a public information session from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. July 13 at (847) 343-4753. Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the department's ability to meet Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program standards. A copy of the standards is at https://bit.ly/2ANCaEf.
