North Chicago man suffers minor gunshot wound in Waukegan

The Waukegan Police Department is asking the public for help in solving a shooting Monday afternoon on the 1000 block of Ash Street.

Officers dispatched to the scene about 1 p.m. found the victim, a man in his 30s from North Chicago, with a minor wound to his arm. He was sitting in his vehicle with a passenger, a woman in her 20s from Waukegan.

The victim was treated and released, and the officers located multiple spent shell casings.

Although the exact motive for the shooting is unknown, detectives do not believe this was a random incident.
