Lake in the Hills administrator resigns

The Lake in the Hills village board accepted the resignation of Village Administrator Jennifer Clough at a special meeting Thursday.

Clough's resignation was announced in a release from the village, which did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding her resignation.

The board appointed Community Services Director Fred Mullard to the post of interim village administrator.

Mullard joined the village in 2001 as the deputy public works director and airport manager. From 2005 to February 2018 he served as public works director, after which he became the first director of the newly created Community Services Division. In that capacity, he has managed the Community Development and Recreation Divisions.

Mullard represents the village on the McHenry County Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee and the Public Transportation Advisory Committee, and he formerly represented Lake in the Hills on the county's Stormwater Technical Advisory Committee.

Before joining the village, Mullard served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force as a civil engineering officer in various positions around the world.
