Promenade construction approved

Naperville City Council members have approved construction of the final phase of the Main Street Promenade in the city's downtown.

The five-story mixed-use building will be on a 0.83-acre site along Main Street between Benton and Van Buren avenues.

It will include retail space on the first floor, with 47 apartments above, and it comes in at 59 feet, 11 inches tall - one inch under the downtown zoning district's 60-foot maximum.

The third phase of the Promenade will complete a development with earlier phases built in 2008 and 2014.
