Three teens injured when car crashes into Beach Park house

Three teens were injured early Thursday when a car they were riding in crashed into a house in Beach Park.

Lake County Sheriff's deputies called about 2:50 a.m. to the 37600 block of North Sheridan Road found a car and home with major damage, according to Sgt. Christopher Covelli.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2008 Chevrolet Impala was occupied by three males, an 18-year-old from Zion, a 16-year old from Zion, and a 14-year-old from Beach Park, Covelli said.

The vehicle was traveling south on Sheridan Road, when for an unknown reason, the driver lost control and struck the front of a home.

Nobody inside the home was injured. One of the three occupants was able to get out of the car but the two others were trapped and had to be extricated by fire personnel, Covelli said.

The three teens were taken to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Kenosha police responded to the scene to process the vehicle for evidence, Covelli said. Criminal charges are pending, he added.
