Roselle cancels Taste of Roselle and other summer events

Roselle has announced the cancellation of all special events for the summer, including the Independence Day Celebration and Taste of Roselle.

Roselle's Independence Day Celebration was scheduled for July 3, and the 39th annual Taste of Roselle, sponsored by the Roselle Lions Club, was scheduled for the first weekend in August. Events that were canceled previously include the Rose Festival and Rose Parade, which had been scheduled for early June.

A full list of event cancellations is available on the village's website.

This week, the village board amended the contract with the fireworks vendor for this year, Melrose Pyrotechnics. The new contract allows the village to apply contractual cancellation fees as a down payment on the village's 2021 fireworks display, officials said. Mission Church, which sponsors the live entertainment before the fireworks show, is committed to returning for the 2021 celebration.
