Elgin to hold virtual council meetings in April

Consistent with the extension of the stay-at-home order, Elgin's facility closures and event cancellations are extended through at least April 30.

The city council meetings on April 8 and 22 will take place virtually while board and commission meetings are canceled for the month.

Residents can view council meetings online at cityofelgin.org/videocenter and submit comments by email to City Clerk Kim Dewis at dewis_k@cityofelgin.org or place them in the dropbox outside city hall in the roundabout at 150 Dexter Court. Public comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. the day of the meeting and will be read at the meeting.

The city's 76 parks remain open but playgrounds are closed. Residents can walk, run, ride their bikes or walk their dogs either solo or with a household partner.

While facilities are closed, the city is open for business. For information call 311 or email elgin311@cityofelgin.org.
