Palatine mayor says follow governor's order

Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz issued a statement strongly encouraging all village residents to follow the mandates and recommendations from Gov. J.B. Pritzker on the need to stay at home and practice social distancing in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. "Unless you have to go out for essential reasons like food, medicine, health care or other essential needs - stay home, stay safe," Schwantz said. Many Palatine employees are working remotely or in split shifts, which village officials say, may result in some nonemergency service responses taking longer than usual.
