North Central administrative employee contracts COVID-19

A member of the administrative staff at North Central College in Naperville has contracted a confirmed case of COVID-19.

The employee last was at work the morning of March 10, the college said in a statement to the campus community.

After going home feeling ill, the employee consulted with a health care provider and began a 14-day self quarantine. But the employee did have "close contact" with other campus community members before being tested for COVID-19, the college's statement said.

The college did not release the identity of the employee, citing health privacy laws.

North Central College stopped all in-person classes after March 13 and began remote instruction March 18. Campus residence halls closed March 18.

Details about the college's response to the new coronavirus are available at info.northcentralcollege.edu.
