Democratic newcomers lead in races for DuPage County posts

DuPage County Democrats appeared to choose two newcomers as their candidates for county circuit court clerk and auditor.

In the race for circuit court clerk, Candice Adams of Lisle was leading Moon Khan of Lombard in the Democratic primary. With 55 percent of the precincts reporting, unofficial results showed Adams with 54,564 votes and Khan with 35,467 votes.

Adams is an attorney seeking her first elected post. Khan works in information technology and served as a York Township trustee from 2005 through 2012.

The winner will face incumbent Republican Chris Kachiroubas, who ran unopposed in his party's primary.

In the Democratic primary race for auditor, William "Bill" White of Downers Grove was leading against Bruce Fogerty of Wheaton. With 55 percent of the precincts reporting, unofficial results showed White with 46,661 votes and Fogerty with 37,108 votes.

The winner will face the Republican nominee during the general election.

Fogerty is an accounting manager and former college instructor who serves as a precinct committeeman. White is an attorney who has served on the Downers Grove District 99 school board and on the Downers Grove Village Council.
