Lake Barrington receives upgraded credit rating

Lake Barrington has received an upgraded credit rating that officials say reflects the strong financial integrity the village has maintained for several years. Moody's recently boosted Lake Barrington's credit rating from Aa2 to Aa1.

Lake Barrington was cited for strong reserves and robust revenue flexibility, plus low debt and pension obligations compared to other Illinois communities.

"Moody's new rating for the Village of Lake Barrington is a testament to the hard work the village and its residents put in to making our community a great place to live and work," Village President Kevin Richardson said. "We pride ourselves in offering unique services to our residents while still maintaining reserve funds and keeping residential property taxes and sales taxes as low as possible."
