Carol Stream man faces stalking charges

A 47-year-old Carol Stream man faces felony charges for placing a GPS tracking device on an acquaintance's car, Kane County authorities said in a news release Thursday.

David D. Sampson, of the 1000 block of Kuhn Road, has been charged with stalking, Class 4 felony.

Sampson is free on $1,000 bond. As a condition of bond, he is prohibited from having contact with the victim, and he must stay away from the victim's home.

Kane County prosecutors allege that on Jan. 7, the victim discovered that Sampson, whom she knew, had placed a GPS tracking device on her car for a third time. The victim called St. Charles police when she discovered the device.

Sampson's next court appearance is 1:30 p.m. March 19.
