Driver charged with DUI after three injured in Mount Prospect crash
A 58-year-old Mount Prospect woman faces a driving under the influence charge after police say she caused a crash Saturday that injured three, including herself and a 9-year-old.
Police said Catherine Chiou, of the 1400 block of Orange Court, was driving a Hyundai Sonata northbound on Main Street near Gregory Street in Mount Prospect at 7:12 p.m. Saturday, when it rear-ended a Ford C-Max that was stopped at the stoplight.
The driver and a 9-year-old passenger in the Ford, as well as Chiou, were taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
Chiou also was cited with failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to police.
