Holmes, Twain principals named in Wheeling District 21

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 has hired two new principals for the 2020-21 school year.

Liz Richards will be the new principal at Holmes Middle School and Alyssa Shlensky will be the principal at Twain Elementary School. Their hirings were approved by the school board last week.

Richards, assistant principal at Holmes since 2017, was previously an assistant principal and dean of students in Cicero District 99. Shlensky, the assistant principal of North Elementary School in Des Plaines Elementary District 62 since 2018, was previously a biliteracy teacher and specialist for Kildeer Countryside Elementary District 96.

Richards and Shlensky are succeeding the current principals of Holmes and Twain, who are retiring at the end of the school year.
