Streamwood man gets 6 years on child pornography charge

A Streamwood man was sentenced to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, court records show.

Ronald Gablin, 40, was also fined $1,314 and received credit for 346 days in custody.

In March 2019, when Gablin was in police custody on another matter, a Naperville Police Department computer forensics expert discovered child pornography on his phone..

The phone, which contained Gablin's personal contact information, contained 11 images of children engaged in sexual behavior.

Prosecutors said Gablin's background includes a 2011 conviction in Kane County for child pornography possession.
