Spring on the mind at Arlington Home & Garden Show

After last week's blast of snow, ice and subzero temperatures, it's no surprise that many of us are getting eager for the arrival of spring.

And there were plenty of chances over the weekend to get a sneak peek at what's ahead and start thinking about summer projects when Arlington International Racecourse played host to the annual Arlington Home & Garden Show.

The free show featured dozens of local and national experts and vendors highlighting the freshest ideas in remodeling, repairing and beautifying a home. Attendees also could check out seminars on topics ranging from solar power and hiring the right contractor, to getting a home ready to sell and the latest trends in bathroom remodeling.

Organizers said this year's show - which covered about 50,000-square-feet inside the racetrack - hosted the greatest diversity of products and services ever featured at the annual event.
