Lake County sheriff offers public academy

The Lake County sheriff's office is hosting a free residents police academy from April 2 through June 4 at the headquarters in Waukegan and the substation in Libertyville. The academy is open to all Lake County residents ages 18 or older, of good moral character and with no felony convictions. Participants will get an indepth view of all sheriff's office responsibilities, including corrections, highway patrol, court security, criminal investigations, crash investigations, evidence processing, and more.
