North Aurora police probe 2 shootings of the same vehicle

North Aurora police are investigating two incidents of shots fired Sunday that damaged the same vehicle on the 200 block of Linn Court.

Officers were first sent to the area for a report of a shattered rear window at 12:18 a.m. The owner heard a loud bang at 12:15 a.m. and did not see anything suspicious.

That night, at 11:31 p.m., police were dispatched to the same location for a report the same vehicle had been shot again between 7 and 8 p.m. The owner had discovered a new bullet hole, and police recovered a slug from inside the vehicle.

No one was injured in either shooting, police said.

A witness reported seeing an older model, silver Honda Civic with burned out passenger's-side taillight going north on Linn and then west onto Dee Road, police said.

Police said they believe the vehicle was specifically targeted and are asking residents with any security video or information to call the Investigations Division at (630) 897-8705, ext. 610.
