Buffalo Grove earns national recognition for financial report

Buffalo Grove has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

The recognition, considered the highest honor in existence for government accounting and financial reporting, was awarded for the village's Fiscal Year 2018 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

The recognition is awarded by a panel of judges that determine if an organization is meeting the highest financial reporting standards in government, and that their financial story is clearly communicated, representing a "constructive spirit of full disclosure," according to a news release from the GFOA.

"I would like to thank the finance department, specifically Deputy Finance Director Andrew Brown, who played an integral role in this significant achievement," Village Manager Dane Bragg said in an announcement of the award.

This is the seventh straight year Buffalo Grove has earned the acknowledgment.
