The Warren-Newport Public Library will host a lunchtime event Wednesday on Al Capone and Chicago's Beer Wars. The event, part of the library's "Lunch & Learn" program, will cover the beginning of the Volstead Act - also known as the National Prohibition Act - to the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and give a sense of what Chicago was like in the Roaring Twenties. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. Registration is available online at calendar.wnpl.info/events.
