Recycle Christmas trees at Lake County forest preserves

The Lake County Forest Preserve District is recycling natural Christmas trees.

Unwanted trees can be dropped off at the following preserves: Grant Woods near Fox Lake; Greenbelt near Waukegan; Half Day near Vernon Hills; Heron Creek near Long Grove; Lakewood near Wauconda; Old School near Libertyville; Ryerson Woods near Deerfield; and Van Patten Woods near Wadsworth.

Trees will be chipped and used for trail and landscaping material at forest preserves throughout Lake County. The preserves are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to sunset. Undecorated trees can be dropped off through Feb. 1.
