Beach Park teen arrested after making threats, police say

A student at a private therapeutic day school in Lake Forest was arrested Tuesday after sending a threatening email to staff members, police said.

Marshell J. Rockwell, 18, of the 38700 block of Sheridan Road in Beach Park, was arrested at his home and charged with felony disorderly conduct. Rockwell is a student at Connections Academy East, 300 S. Waukegan Road.

Police learned he had made verbal and online threats against people at the school, according to a news release. Rockwell told police he had tried to buy a firearm but denied intending to harm anyone at the school, according to the release.

During a court appearance Wednesday, Rockwell's bail was set at $50,000. He is next scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
