How to get help clearing snow in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights residents 60 and over or with a disability can get help clearing snow this winter through the village's Snow Shoveling Referral Program.

The program provides residents with the names and contact information of teens willing to shovel snow. The resident is responsible for contacting the teen and making scheduling and financial arrangements. The teen is responsible for snow shoveling or notifying the resident if they are unable to complete the work.

The village does not do background checks on any of the participants. Both parties should do their own interview and/or reference check if desired. Referrals will come through the Arlington Heights Senior Center.

Those interested can view a video about the program, get answers to frequently asked questions an fill out a request form online under the "Senior Center" tab on the village website, www.vah.com. The Senior Center's number is (847) 253-5532.
