Lake Barrington to vote on recreational pot sales Tuesday

Lake Barrington village board members are scheduled to vote Tuesday night on whether to permit recreational marijuana retailers in town.

The regular board meeting is set for 7 p.m. at village hall, 23860 N. Old Barrington Road.

Recreational pot use by those 21 and older becomes legal in Illinois on Jan. 1. Towns can't outlaw its use, but they are allowed to prohibit businesses that sell it or restrict their location.
