Rolling Meadows man gets 17 years for sexually abusing two girls

A 58-year-old Rolling Meadows man who pleaded guilty last month to sexually abusing two girls was sentenced to 17 years in prison Tuesday.

Bradley Pletz, who pleaded guilty to predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, was also ordered to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life, according to prosecutors.

Hours after Pletz was released from Cook County jail on home monitoring in January 2018 on charges of sexually abusing one victim, he was arrested on similar charges in a separate case involving a different victim, prosecutors said. The girls were between the ages of seven and nine at the time, authorities said.

Pletz received credit for 743 days in custody. He must complete at least 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
