Arlington Heights hosts Holiday Happenings @ Harmony Park Friday

Downtown Arlington Heights will come alive Friday, Dec. 6, with the sounds of sleigh bells ringing and carolers singing for the Holiday Happenings @ Harmony Park event.

Set to take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the festivities at the corner of Campbell Street and Vail Avenue include horse-drawn trolley rides, carolers, food vendors providing sweet treats, a popcorn wagon, roasted almonds, hot chocolate, a petting zoo and a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus, who will arrive about 5:15 p.m. on a "firetruck sleigh."

The village is promising a 100% chance of snow over Harmony Park during the celebration, which is free to attend.

New this year is a "Wishful Linking" garland station where visitors and residents will write down their good cheer messages. The garland then will adorn the holiday tree in Harmony Park.
