Oakton Community College hosts 'Speaker Showcase' Dec. 3

Oakton Community College will host an evening of the best and brightest of Oakton Community College's student speeches during a "Speaker Showcase," set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the college's Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

The event is free and open to the public.

Led by showcase director and founder Bob Gynn, students will display skills on a spectrum of topics, from educational to inspirational to comical and deeply personal.

"This is a terrific end-of semester program providing gifted speech speakers with the special opportunity to share their talents with an audience outside of the traditional classroom setting," Gynn said in an announcement of the event. "The showcase is also a way of training exceptional speakers - one of the top skills you can have for success in business and in life."
