A different twist on holiday shopping at Schaumburg craft fair

Even with all the retail available in Schaumburg, the most surefire place in the village to find a unique holiday gift might be a ways south of Woodfield.

The Schaumburg Park District will host the Spring Valley Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 1, at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

"This event offers items with a personal touch that make them wonderful holiday gifts for loved ones," said Dave Brooks, manager of conservation at Spring Valley. "You can find anything from crocheted mittens to woodworking."

The fair is sponsored by the Spring Valley Nature Club and will feature unique merchandise, ornaments and holiday decor made by local artisans and crafters.
