Hanover Park to hold hearing on pot sales Nov. 14

The Hanover Park development commission will conduct a public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, regarding the potential of recreational cannabis facilities and then make a recommendation to the village board.

Those interested are invited to appear and be heard at the public hearing in Room 214 of village hall, 2121 W. Lake St.

The village board is considering opting in to allow for the sale of recreational cannabis as of Jan. 1, with a maximum of two business licenses, one in Cook County and one in DuPage, with no on-premise consumption allowed.

Among the zoning issues the development commission will consider are location, geographic criteria, hours of operation and whether to permit businesses by right or as a special use.

For questions or to provide feedback outside of the hearing, call (630) 823-5780 or email communitydevelopment@hpil.org.
