Town hall meeting on stormwater fee
Libertyville will hold a town hall meeting on a potential stormwater utility fee at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Libertyville Civic Center, 135 W. Church St.
Village officials will introduce the concept of the fee to fund projects, improvements and maintenance of the system. Limited improvements have been made in recent years but significant flooding in 2017 highlighted the need for more work.
In April, the village adopted a stormwater master plan that contains $45.5 million in identified flood reduction projects. Historically, projects have been funded on a pay as you go basis from general funds, but more stable and sustainable revenue sources are being sought.
