Enjoy Halloween fun at the Haunted Trail and Bonfire Oct. 19 in Lindenhurst

The Lindenhurst Park District's Haunted Trail and Bonfire returns to Forest View Park this year, offering spooky entertainment and activities from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Admission is free.

Activities will include wagon rides, a costume contest, stage acts, children's games, the Witches Kitchen, a bonfire and more.

The costume contest includes divisions for ages 2-5, 6-8, 9-13 and the new family group, and will begin at 3:30 p.m. Registration begins at 3 p.m. Participation is free.

Wagon rides will run from 3-6 p.m., at a cost of $1 or a canned food item.

The free live entertainment includes performances by Paddy Lynn at 5:30 p.m., Balloon Dude Dale at 6 p.m., Jason the Juggler at 6:30 p.m. and — new this year — Gypsy Band at 7 p.m.

Children's games will be available from 3-8 p.m. and will require tickets, which can be purchased at the Ticket Tent on-site. The Witches Kitchen will also be open from 3-8 p.m.

The Haunted Trail itself will be open from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and 6-7:30 p.m., with a cost of $1 per person for each time through or two tickets.

The bonfire will be held at dusk, and will include free hot apple cider.
