Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 is planning two more community focus group meetings this month as part of its strategic planning process.

The sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 23, at London Middle School in Wheeling, and Thursday, Oct. 24, at Holmes Middle School in Wheeling. Each meeting runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Residents, parents and district staff members are invited to attend to provide input to the strategic plan team. At the meetings, they will review data about student achievement, climate, facilities, technology and operations. Then, they'll be asked to review the planning team's draft SWOT analysis, which details strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

The district contracted with the Consortium for Educational Change to develop the plan, which will be presented for consideration and approval by the school board in January. The plan is expected to guide the district for the next three to five years.
