Video gambling increase in Lake County

The Lake County Board on Tuesday amended the local ordinance governing video gambling to increase the number of terminals allowed, per the state Video Gaming Act.

The state issues video gambling licenses, and while Lake County can't regulate the number of video gambling machines in unincorporated areas, an establishment that wants them must have a liquor license. Up to six machines are allowed at bars and restaurants, with up to 10 allowed at truck stops with liquor licenses.

A proposed county ban on new video gambling locations in unincorporated Lake County was defeated in July.
