District 211 to resume discussions on locker-room access

Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 board members are scheduled Thursday to discuss a proposed policy granting transgender students unrestricted access to locker rooms.

Board members will gather for the public portion of the session at 7:30 p.m. at District 211's G.A. McElroy Administration Center, 1750 S. Roselle Road in Palatine.

In anticipation of a large crowd, officials say visitors who wish to make public comments regarding the transgender locker-room issue must draw a number from a box at a table near the meeting room entrance and print their names on a "citizen appearances" yellow sheet next to their number from 6:45 to 7:25 p.m. A random system will be used to determine the order to address the school board. Speakers will be limited to three minutes each.
