Free workshop by 'Star Trek' writer at College of Lake County

Award-winning "Star Trek" writer Morgan Gendel will offer storytelling tips at a free writing workshop from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, in Room A012 at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

He'll explain the fundamentals of storytelling while offering behind-the-scenes tales of his work in the writers' rooms of "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Law & Order," "The 100" and many more. He also will read an excerpt from his just-published, debut science-fiction novel, "Planet 6."
