Trick or Treat with Gurnee Park District

Join the Gurnee Park District as ghouls, goblins and favorite characters greet trick or treaters from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.

Event is recommended for kids between the ages of 1 and 6, but the entire family is welcome to join the fun. Walk house to house in your Halloween best. Trick or treat with famous superheroes, notorious villains and princesses.

Trick or treating will be outside, starting at 1 p.m. The last group will be sent on the path at 3 p.m. No pre-registration is required. Cash only payment will be accepted at the door. Gurnee resident cost is $5 and nonresident cost is $10.

Few tips for the day:

• Parking: Please follow parking signs. Guests may have to walk from the Viking Park soccer fields or back lots.

• When to arrive: Trick or Treat Path line tends to start between 12:15 and 12:30 p.m. Last groups will be sent on the path at 3 p.m.

• Don't forget: Cash and ID. Event is cash only $5 resident/$10 nonresident. Camera/phone, trick or treat bag/bucket.

• Weather reminder: Be sure to dress appropriately to be outdoors. Should there be threat of rain, please check the rainout line for updates.

• Food allergies: Gurnee Park District makes a concerted effort to purchase candy that does not contain peanuts/peanut extract; however cannot guarantee processing or packaging procedures.
