Learn about Hoffman Estates history at Saturday event

To honor the Hoffman Estates' 60th anniversary, village historian Pat Barch and the Hoffman Estates Museum will present a special program entitled "How We Got From Here to There, the Story of Hoffman Estates' Boundaries" on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The event is set fo3 1 to 3 p.m. in the large meeting room of village hall, 1900 Hassell Road.

Questions that will be tackled include why Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg have a checkerboard map in the area of Golf, Roselle and Higgins roads, and why the village has close to 4,000 square miles of Forest Preserve land up north and to the west.

Historical materials and photos will be on display and light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Barch at eagle2064@comcast.net or (847) 755-9630.
