West Dundee woman sentenced to 10 years for two DUIs
A 34-year-old West Dundee woman who in 2018 received two DUIs within four months, pleaded guilty to the charges, court records show.
Isabelle Garrity, of Lathrop Lane, was sentenced to a total of 10 years - five years for each charge to be served consecutively - in exchange for pleading guilty to a July 2018 DUI and a November 2018 DUI, according to court records.
Barrington police arrested Garrity in July 2018 at Hillside Avenue and Queens Cover near Northwest Highway for driving 67 mph in a 45 mph zone. Her blood alcohol content measured .166, more than twice the legal limit, according to authorities.
A few months later, in November 2018, a Rolling Meadows police officer discovered Garrity unconscious in the driver's seat of a running car in a parking lot in the 2100 block of Plum Grove Road, prosecutors said during her bond hearing last year.
Rolling Meadows police received a call about a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot, prosecutors said. When officer knocked on the car window to get Garrity's attention, she looked at him and fell back asleep, prosecutors said.
