Waukegan man faces drug charges

A Waukegan man faces several drug-related felony charges as part of a two-month narcotics investigation, Lake County sheriff's officials announced Tuesday.

Quentin A. Wooding, 33, of the 3000 block of Arthur Court, was on bond after a drug arrest in May in Zion when additional charges were filed this week.

Members of the sheriff's office Special Investigations Group obtained a search warrant for Wooding's residence Sept. 16, and found he was in possession of a semi-automatic pistol, more than 15 grams of heroin packaged for delivery, and more than one gram of cocaine packaged for delivery, sheriff's police said.

He was arrested and charged with armed habitual criminal; unlawful possession and intent to deliver heroin and cocaine; unlawful possession of a controlled substance; unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Wooding remains held on $500,000 bail and is next due in court Sept. 20.
