September's Newspaper Movie of the Month

Our editors debate which screen version of "The Front Page" was best, the original 1931 Pat O'Brien comedy; the 1940 Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell "His Girl Friday" adaptation; or the 1974 remake. For today, we choose the 1974 version because of our affection for Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. A stereotypical caricature? Yes. But still, the flavor captures the craziness of the old tabloid press.
