Grants from local, national health organizations fund CLC scholarships

The College of Lake County received a $75,000 grant that will fund at least 34 scholarships for students in health care career fields this year. Each scholarship, courtesy of the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, is designed to help current or prospective students planning to enroll in a health care career certificate or degree program in the 2019-2020 academic year. It pays for a maximum of 12 credits of tuition per semester, including comprehensive fees. Scholarship recipients must remain enrolled at least part-time and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher each semester. Applications for the scholarships are due Sept. 6.
