Golf outing raises money for Schaumburg Park Foundation

A perfect late summer's day greeted participants in the 12th annual Links Technology Cup charitable golf outing Wednesday at the Schaumburg Golf Club.

Proceeds from the event support recreation scholarships and other projects spearheaded by the Schaumburg Park Foundation.

Projects helped by the event in recent years include Bison's Bluff Nature Playground, the Meineke Park Challenge Course and a pollinator garden at Spring Valley Nature Center.

In addition to the scramble-format tournament, golfers took part in different contests on nearly every hole and sampled dishes from various local restaurants through "Taste on the Tee" promotions on alternating holes.

Tony LaFrenere, president of the Schaumburg Park Foundation, tees off Wednesday during the Links Technology Cup golf tournament, as team members Jim Burke, COO of Links Technology, Brian Burke, President/CEO of Links Technology, and Brian Bieschke of the Schaumburg Park District looks on.
